Who Are We?
Our instructors come from a broad range of educational backgrounds and experiences. From Biology majors to retired elementary school teachers, we have a diverse group that allows for collaboration and growth for students as well as instructors. We are always eager to meet new instructors, so if you have experience working with students in an educational environment and feel you would be a good fit for our staff, please feel free to contact us!

Mary Ann: Owner and Nursing Tutor
Mary Ann is a nurse and EMT, along with just about everything else! She enjoys assisting students who are seeking a career in healthcare. In her spare time, Mary Ann enjoys spending time with her family.
Rose: Math Tutor and Science Tutor
Rose graduated from the University of Oregon in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and an emphasis in Secondary Education. She loves teaching math, especially trigonometry and calculus, and enjoys helping students prepare for the AP Calculus exam. In her spare time, Rose likes to spend time with her cats, make costumes, play tabletop role-playing games, and work in her garden.
Nozomi: Japanese Tutor
Nozomi is originally from Japan. She is married to a wonderful husband of over 17 years and enjoys meeting new students. Nozomi loves sharing her culture and Japanese with everyone!
Mike: Math and Physics Tutor
Mike earned an undergraduate degree in meteorology and minored in math. He enjoys playing sports and doing theater.
Nannette: Reading and Writing Tutor
Nannette has a Master’s degree in Literature from California State University Sacramento with a concentration in Medieval and Renaissance Literature and holds writing composition teaching certificate. Nannette has also tutored all ages and all levels of language arts, including phonics and writing, for over 12 years. She has also been a substitute teacher in both California and Oregon and has been teaching college courses since 2007. Nannette's hobbies include creative writing, playing guitar, and tennis.
Andi: ESL, Math, Reading, Writing, and Language Arts Tutor
Andi is a natural-born enthusiast eager to make a difference in the lives of people from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, and those with special needs. With a Master’s honors education in business, health care, and linguistics, she enjoys exploring new languages and cultures, writing poetry and children’s stories, singing, and challenging the horizon. Her mantra is, “You can do the impossible with practice, hard work, and imagination.”
Gretchen: Math and Science Tutor
Gretchen graduated from California State University in Fresno with a B.A. in chemistry and from Oregon State University with an M.S. in Chemistry. She has taught chemistry at Lane Community College and both CSUF and OSU as a graduate student. Gretchen has tutored math and science students in elementary school through college for over 25 years. She also volunteers for Greenhill Humane Society as a dog enrichment trainer. Gretchen enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and spends her free time reading, sewing and knitting.
Laura: Math Tutor
Dania: Spanish Tutor
Austin: Office Assistant
Austin is currently a student at Oregon State University studying Geology and Spanish. She went to a Spanish immersion school and obtained the Oregon State seal of bi-literacy. In her free time she enjoys reading, going to trivia, and cooking.
Emma: Office Coordinator
Emma is currently a senior at the University of Oregon, and is working hard to achieving her B.S. in Cultural and Biological Anthropology. She moved here from Bend to attend college, and loves reading, traveling, hiking and cooking.
Professor Charles Xavier: General Miscreant and Mascot
Professor Charles Xavier, despite his title, did not graduate from anywhere. He chiefly tutors students in giving him cat treats. When he is not at work with his mom, the Professor likes bothering his older sister, playing with his favorite mouse (the pink one), and tipping over his water dish because it amuses him.
